Questions About Skincare You Were Afraid to Ask:

Want to know about skincare, but the prospect of revealing your knowledge gaps is too much? Listen, we get it. We aren’t born knowing all the answers, and sometimes you’re just too deep in it to ask them. We’ve compiled a list of the questions you were too afraid to ask!

Is it necessary for me to wash my face every day?

This is a great question and one that many people are hesitant to ask. The nerdy word, on the other hand, is: yes. In fact, twice.

To remove dust, oil, and pollution, you should wash your face first thing in the morning and last thing at night. And how should it be washed? That brings us to our next question…

Is it okay if I wash my face with water?

You cannot clean your face with water. You can wash your face with water, but it will not remove any oil, makeup, impurities, or other substances that have bonded to your skin. You’ll be wet but not dry. To prepare your face for the day ahead, or to wash away the day before, you must apply a product to your skincare.

How critical is it to wear sunscreen every day?

You’ve probably heard about SPF, but how important is it? Well, it’s pretty much key. The most important things you can do for your skin are to wash your face and wear SPF every day. Wearing SPF can help protect your skin from UVA, UVB, and HEV light while also protecting your skin and lowering your risk of developing skin cancer. That is why it is critical to apply, reapply, and wear it every day.

Is it too late to start using sunscreen?

It is never too late to begin skin protection. Even if you’ve never done it before, tomorrow is a new day, and putting on sunscreen is always a good idea. Probably ten years ago was the best time to start wearing SPF. The following best time is right now! Is it possible to shrink my pores?

Pores, we always say, aren’t doors. They don’t open or close, but certain ingredients can help to improve the appearance of pores. If pores are a concern, niacinamide is an excellent ingredient. It can help to reduce sebum production, making your pores appear smaller. Pores can appear larger when sebum is trapped inside them, so using a niacinamide-rich product can be beneficial. Pore size is often caused by a natural breakdown of elastin rather than oil, but you can keep your pores in check with the right skincare ingredients.

Is it actually ok to pick spots?

Picking spots is not a good idea. Treatment will vary depending on the type of spot in question. If it’s a whitehead, applying salicylic acid directly to the spot can help dry it out. If it’s a red, headless spot that’s angry and inflamed, you can apply salicylic acid as well – but it’s best to leave these alone and not pick them, as doing so will make things worse.

Picking at spots can cause scarring and, in some cases, infection. If you must squeeze your spot, wash your hands, cleanse your skin care, wrap your fingers in tissue, and press down and wiggle on the skin around the spot. Stop now, before there’s blood! Apply an antibacterial treatment to the skin right away and avoid wearing makeup until it’s completely dry.

Is it necessary to moisturize?

It is more important to apply key ingredients to your skin to provide it with everything it requires to be protected and healthy. The nerdier philosophy places a greater emphasis on serums, which are highly concentrated moisturizers packed with active ingredients. Often, your serums will provide your skin with everything it requires without the need for an additional moisturizer.
